New static caravan laws for Wales

The Welsh Assembly has announced its Mobile Homes (Wales) Act 2013, which is set to change the rules and regulations for static home owners across Wales.Under a new Bill from the Welsh Assembly, caravan site owners will have to undergo tests in order to own their site

The Bill became law in Wales on 4th November this year and its purpose is to establish a licensing regime across mobile home sites throughout the country. It is said that the Bill will hopefully improve site conditions, standards in the industry and protect the rights of residents who buy static caravans for sale in Wales.

The Bill will look to enforce such rules as site managers having to undergo a series of tests in order to own their site, meaning that they will no longer be able to unfairly block or monitor the sale of mobile homes. The Bill will also allow local councils to play a more prominent role in the holiday home sector in Wales.
